Welcome to Georgia Mom and Dad

Dawn, Jeff, Luke, Sassy, Alley, Kapono, Maggie and I are very excited that Gordon and Linda Minty as well as Tuppence will soon be calling Griffin, Georgia home! Welcome to the Peach State!

Since mom was unable to make it to the walk through- Dawn and I thought it would be a great idea to shoot a homemade video of the house! Warning this is my 1st experience with a flip cam!

Enjoy!

signing in

Thank's, Dawn, for setting up the blog. Now you and Anne shall have no excuse for forgetting birthdays and other occasions (although I don't recall either Dawn or Anne ever forgetting these thigs in the past). As other relatives become aware of the blog they can use it as a "one stop" posting board instead of contacting us individually. I expect grandma Minty will still use the phone though.

Howdy from the Indiana Minty's!

Hello! Welcome to our family blog! As you can see from our daughters' entries, we are empty nesters now. We're still gainfully employed at Indiana State University but are looking forward to retirement in a couple of years. At that time, we hope to head to a warmer climate so Gordon can play golf and Linda can just play. (Look out Dawn and Anne. We might move to Georgia and be pests!) For anyone reading this, please post a note to keep in touch, and we'll add updates as soon as we thaw from our midwest winter freeze. For now, Peace! And take care!

The youngest of the Gordon Minty Clan

Hello! This is Anne, Gordon and Linda's 2nd child. Or as I like to remind my older sister the Youngest in the family. I don't have much to say tonight, but I wanted to share that I am extremely excited that we started this! What a great idea, dad. I will post a photo as soon as I can catch my dog (Kapono) not to mention catch my boyfriend (Luke), who doesn't run as fast but is very agile for a guy his size; give me a week to catch them and find some snazzy sweaters (Jeff, can we borrow a couple?) to dress them in and I will post a photo. Hope all is well with everyone and good night!

Okay I succumbed to the pressures of an older sister. This is a photo from Easter. Yup I am still a BIG kid. I loved those bunnies ears, Kapono wanted to eat them-

Gordon's Family

Gordon Minty, son of Margarete (Dick) and Albert Minty, is shown with his wife Linda and his mom.

Dawn's family

I'm Dawn, daughter of Gordon and Linda Minty and granddaughter of Margarete (Dick) and Albert Minty. I've been married to Jeff Hendrickson since 2000. The husband picked the year. He said he'd always remember the anniversary. He hasn't forgotten yet, so I guess his plan worked!

We live in Columbus, Georgia. We have two dogs, Sassy and Alley, who keep us laughing with their misadventures. I am the features editor at The Ledger-Enquirer newspaper, and Jeff is the online editor. Yes, we work together. Yes, sometimes we drive each other crazy. Mostly, though, it works well and we save tons on gas money since we carpool most days.

I'm setting up this blog at the request of my father. (Yes, I'm 32, and yes, I still do what he says. Probably more so now than when I was a teenager.) I think this is great idea! (Yes, really, dad. Once in awhile you come up with a good one.) So I hope you all will post news and photos of your families and that we can share our stories with one another. E-mail me at dawnminty2828@yahoo.com if you need any help.

Here's a photo of my family.
